All I Want
After Homecoming
I love how everything seems to
Cascade into itself here. So that you
Are wanting, but never wanting too
Much, and you are laughing but still
Able to hold a face of seriousness
And you are breaking, breaking so
Much, but still able to gather
Up every piece of you before it is
Swallowed up by this world, you never
Forget to say cheese before the
Shutter clicks. And here you love, you
Love and do it so gently, so openly, I
Wonder if you are not afraid of hurt or
Regret, or leaving or receding waves,
Or blue skies bleeding their colour
Away into grey and water. And I know,
That there is an inch of me, like you,
Scattered in some far off corner of
This world. I will search. I will find.
