Musonda Mumba is an environmentalist and UN Diplomat leading the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Terrestrial Ecosystems team and also lead for the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030) on all things terrestrial. She is also the current chair of the Global Partnership on Forest and Landscape Restoration (GPFLR). Zambian born, with a PhD from University College London (UCL) in Wetland Ecology, she has worked in different parts of the world on various environmental issues. An avid writer, she loves mountain climbing, Forest walking, is a runner, abstract painter and is also the founder of the Network of African Women Environmentalists (NAWE). She is a mother to two earthlings, a girl and boy, who keep her curious. She lives and works in Nairobi, Kenya.
