Valentine Njoroge is the founder and CEO of dadasphere Media Ltd, an innovative and exploratory platform for African women to be seen and to be heard. Dadasphere exists to empower and free women through sharing our lived experience.
Valentine grew up in Nairobi, and later studied in London and went on to get 2 degrees in the State University of New York, at Buffalo. In 2007 she created and wrote “The Last Round” an open and frank weekly column in The Star newspaper about female sexuality and relationships. She very soon became the most read female columnist in East Africa. Valentine challenged societal norms, and traditional practices; she prompted discussions on ‘what is the African Man?’, and the roles and behaviours of all society’s members in the intricate world of sex and relationships.
In 2017 dadasphere Media was created as a platform for African women to share their stories. To date 11 multi speaker events have been curated in Nairobi and dadasphere talks are available on YouTube and Showmax, having reached over 2 million viewers.
Recently dadasphere Media has launched 2 shows – The Loop and Unplugged – in conjunction with Mediamax on the K24 TV channel, with Valentine ss the presenter on The Loop, and executive producer on both shows.
Valentine remains passionate about African women enjoying full economic agency and self-expression; believing that ours is the voice this continent has been waiting for.
