Adrian Harewood is a Canadian writer and journalist, the son of immigrants from the Caribbean. He’s a news anchor for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) – Canada’s public broadcaster. For the last 20 years, Adrian has hosted national news/current affairs and literary arts & film programs on radio and television in Canada and the US – BRAVO, PBS & CBC. He’s interviewed the likes of Salman Rushdie, Angela Davis, Hugh Masekela, John Irving, Wayne Shorter, Esi Edugyan, Ondjaki, Dick Gregory, Helen Oyeyemi, Eleanor Catton, Femi Kuti, Eduardo Galeano, Deepa Mehta, Ken Burns, Esperanza Spalding, Gustavo Dudamel, Kamasi Washington, Yann Martel, Cassandra Wilson, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump. Adrian is the recipient of the 2020 Canadian Screen Award (Canada’s Emmy Awards)for Best News Anchor, Local. He lives in Ottawa.
