Jide Martin is the Founder and CEO of Comic Republic, Africa’s first digital comic book company, and the CEO of the animation studio, CR Motion+.
His passion for African art inspired him to build the continent’s largest comic publisher, renowned for offering weekly comics that have attracted millions of readers worldwide. Under his leadership, Comic Republic has gained global recognition with features on CNN, Forbes, BBC, and Al Jazeera. It became the first African comic brand to secure investor funding, license its heroes for over forty million school notebooks, launch the world’s first crypto comic, and sign a groundbreaking $4 million licensing deal with Universal Studios Group for 15 characters for live-action, TV and film.
A lawyer, illustrator, and entrepreneur, Jide is a TEDx speaker, UNICEF changemaker, MIPAD100 honoree, and Africa Education Medal finalist.
He empowers young creators through workshops and conventions to tell authentic African stories.
