Fatimata Wane is a Franco-Senegalese journalist and news anchor at France 24 since 2006, where she has presented Le Journal de l’Afrique and hosts Planète Afro, the channel’s programme dedicated to African and Caribbean cultural news. A graduate of ESJ Paris and the Sorbonne, she has spent two decades covering Africa’s creative industries, and received the Mondiapress Award in 2018 for her contribution to showcasing African culture.
In 2023, she co-founded the African Book Festival of Marrakech (FLAM) with artist Mahi Binebine, now one of the continent’s leading literary gatherings. She is also the founder of AAC55 | Action Africa Culture, a pan-African initiative launched in partnership with UNESCO to connect cultural actors across the continent, and a sought-after moderator for institutions including UNESCO and the United Nations. Born in Dakar, she lives near Paris.
