Dami Ajayi is a Nigerian writer and culture journalist whose work maps the intersections of literature, music, and urban life.
Trained in Medicine and Surgery at Obafemi Awolowo University, he co-founded Saraba, The Lagos Review and Yaba Left Review.
Author of three poetry collections—Clinical Blues, A Woman’s Body is a Country, and Affection & Other Accidents—his books have been shortlisted and longlisted for major prizes and translated into Yoruba, Portuguese and Italian.
He has contributed essays to Chimurenga Chronic, The Guardian UK, The Africa Report, Native Magazine and The Republic. He lives in London where he works as a psychiatrist.
