Dami Ajayi is a Nigerian-born poet, essayist, cultural critic, author, and psychiatrist based in the UK. He is the author of the critically acclaimed poetry collection A Woman's Body is a Country and its sprawling sequel, Affection & Other Accidents, named the Best Poetry Collection of the Year Award at the 2023 Port Harcourt International Literary Festival.
His work has been nominated for several prestigious prizes, including the Association of Nigerian Authors Prize, the Wole Soyinka Prize for African Literature, and the Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry.
His journalism has appeared in publications such as The Africa Report, Chimurenga Chronic, and The Elephant. He also shares his insights on music and culture through his newsletter, London Listening Sessions, on Substack.
