Abdulkareem Baba-Aminu is an award-winning journalist who served as the Editor – and editorial cartoonist – of the Saturday edition of the Daily Trust, a major Nigerian newspaper with an influential body of journalistic and cartooning work that has spanned over two decades. He has also worked in TV, as a writer for the BBC WST’s award-winning TV series ‘Wetin Dey’.
Baba-Aminu is also a writer and illustrator whose work is featured in bestselling graphic novel anthology ‘The Most Important Comic Book on Earth’ (Penguin UK), and ‘Full Bleed’ (US). He has written for many publications, including ‘The Passenger’ (Italy and UK), and many others, some translated into French and Italian.
Baba-Aminu’s paintings have been widely exhibited, and he also illustrated ‘Who’s Who in The Yoruba Pantheon’ (Iwalewa Publishing), a number of children’s books, and poetry collections.
His first novel, ‘The Herdsboy’, a work of Africanfuturism, is slated for a mid-2025 release.
