He emphasises the fact that everybody worships a god. \u201cAnyi niile na efe Chukwu, ndi igbo na akpo ya i ga ofo,\u201d he says and explains the procedure for Igbo ancestral worship. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-6066\" src=\"https:\/\/akefestival.org\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/DSC_7823-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>Chukwubudike Ugbaja expounds on the distinction between \u2018Chukwu\u2019, a general supreme God that everybody serves and \u2018Chi\u2019 which he believes to be a personal god. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-6067\" src=\"https:\/\/akefestival.org\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/DSC_7830-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>Munoyedi Ogboluma rounds up the discussion with a powerful statement that gives the audience something to think about long after they leave the festival. She says, \u201cThere are so many misconceptions about African spirituality, and we can only understand it when we debunk the misconception. When African people push back or resent the African tradition and spirituality, it is because they are afraid of being labelled\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conversations around Spirituality and Divinity in Igboland are important.
