Because it is African Time, Wana Udobang is taking us on a trip around the globe to showcase some of the most talented poets performing today. We’re heading to South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Jamaica, UK, Uganda, Senegal, Sudan, Kenya and Algeria.
This year, we are releasing a four-track video album of Wana Udobang’s sublime poems from the Thick Skin collection. In an artistic collaboration where poetry meets moving images, Abiola Sobo, Grace Ekpu, Obii Ifejika and Azam Masoumzade will create visual interpretations of Wana Udobang’s poems.
This event has become the trademark Ake Festival sign-off event and a firm favourite with the audience.
