Festival Guests 2026

Christina Fonthes (pronounced Fon-tez) is an award-winning Congolese-British writer, mother, and founder of REWRITE, an organisation dedicated to supporting and championing Black women and women of colour writers.

She is the author of Where You Go, I Will Go, an acclaimed debut novel set between Kinshasa, London, and Paris, exploring the complexities of mother-daughter relationships, migration, identity, and queer African lives.

In 2021, Christina was awarded the Royal Society of Literature Sky Arts Writers Award for Fiction and was mentored by internationally acclaimed authors Bernardine Evaristo and Irenosen Okojie.

In 2026, she won the Authors’ Club Best First Novel Award for Where You Go, I Will Go.
Through her writing, teaching, and community-building, Christina is committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and creating spaces where Black women and women of colour can thrive. She currently lives between London and Lisbon.
