Dami Ajayi is a Nigerian psychiatrist, poet, and cultural critic. His essays on music and culture have appeared in The Africa Report, Chimurenga Chronic, Afropolitan Vibes Magazine, Lost in Lagos Magazine, Global Voices, Music in Africa, The Republic, and The Elephant.

He has been consulted for music writing by Financial Times, Al Jazeera, The World, and Weekendavisen. Ajayi’s poetry has earned critical acclaim, with Clinical Blues shortlisted for the Melita Hume Prize (2012) and longlisted for the Wole Soyinka Prize for African Literature (2017).

His second collection, A Woman’s Body is a Country, was a finalist for the Glenna Luschei Prize (2018). He curates London Listening Sessions, a newsletter exploring West African music. He lives in London, United Kingdom.
