Jessica Horn

Jessica Horn is a feminist activist, women’s rights analyst and poet. Descended from polymaths, her own expertise and commitments span human rights, social history and creative expression - with a particular focus on the struggles, stories and movements of African women.

Jessica has served as an advisor to African and global initiatives on philanthropy for social justice, peace and security and women's rights. As a commentator and policy analyst, Jessica's writing has been featured in news platforms openDemocracy, Al Jazeera and The Guardian, and in academic journals The Lancet and Feminist Africa.   

In 2012, Jessica was named an African woman change maker by ARISE Magazine’s African and as one of Applause Africa’s 40 Africans Changemakers under 40 . She currently works as Director of Programmes for the African Women's Development Fund based in Accra where she has co-led the initiation of the feminist Futures initiative.
