Diekara Oloruntoba

Diekara Oloruntoba-Oju was born in 1996 in Nigeria. She is a final year student of the Department of Foreign Languages, majoring in German and French, at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and has been writing since the age of 4.

Her writings span across poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. Some of her early poems have been published in journals and poetry anthologies. Her debut novel, When Lemons Grow on Orange Trees, was published in 2016 by Kraftbooks, Ibadan and launched at Goethe-Institut, Lagos.

She is a youth contributor on the What’s On Africa blog and is currently working on a new novel.
