Sara Blecher

Sara Blecher is a co-founder of CINGA Productions, a small boutique South African based Production company that has made a number of award-winning feature films, documentaries and drama series including Zero Tolerance which was nominated for an international Emmy Award.

An honors graduate of NYU, Sara  has made some outstanding and noteworthy documentaries including “Surfing Soweto ( feature) ” and “Kobus And Dumile ( short) ” for which she won  CNN’s African journalist of the year award.

She is co-creator, director, and producer of the award-winning 36 part drama Bay Of Plenty, and she series produced and directed on the local version of Who Do You Think You Are? Sara currently lives in Johannesburg where she has just completed her second and third Fiction feature films simultaneously – “Ayanda” and  “Dis Ek Anna”, both of which were released in October 2015.

Her debut feature “Otelo Burning”, won over 17 international awards and was names by CNN as one of the top ten African films of the decade.
