Tope Oshin

Tope Oshin, who has been on several power lists in Nigeria and Africa including Africa’s Leading Women, Nigeria’s Most Inspiring Women, Top 7 Power Women in Nigerian Film. She is a multiple award–winning filmmaker who studied Theatre & Film at the Lagos State University, Nigeria, Colorado Film School, USA, and also alumni of Berlinale Talents and Talents Durban.

She has directed over five hundred episodes of television content, working on Africa’s biggest drama series, Tinsel, Hotel Majestic, Hush and GidiUp3. Other credits include features, shorts and made-for-tv films, and the documentary Amaka’s Kin—The Women Of Nollywood that chronicles the pains and victories the few female directors in Nigeria.

Among her producing credits are thirty TV movies, talk shows, the highly successful theatrical feature Fifty, plus her BFI Premiered documentary “Amaka’s Kin- The Women Of Nollywood.”

As Supervising Producer and Consultant, she has reviewed over 40 screenplays, and also lent her skill as a trainer at several film workshops in Nigeria and has served as Juror for the International Emmy Awards 2015 & 2017, Eko International Film Festival 2015 & 2016, and AfricaMagic Viewers Choice Awards 2016.

Tope who describes herself as a film artist and a filmmaker for change, is devoted to changing the world, “one frame at a time”.
